Eligibility Criteria: Surat Municipal Corporation Recruitment 2025
Age Limit (as of 09/10/2025):
- Additional Chief Fire Officer & Deputy Chief Fire Officer: Not more than 45 years.
- Fire Officer & Sub Officer (Fire): Not more than 35 years.
- Age relaxation is available for reserved categories, but the age should not exceed 45 years. The age limit does not apply to regular SMC employees.
Physical Standards:
- Candidates must meet minimum height, weight, and chest measurements, and must not have certain physical defects like flat feet or knock knee
For Male Candidates
- Height: 165 cm (160 cm for ST)
- Chest: 81 cm (deflated) / 86 cm (inflated)
- Weight: Minimum 50 kg
For Female Candidates
- Height: 157 cm (154.5 cm for ST)
- Weight: Minimum 46 kg

Educational Qualifications: SMC Fire Officer and other Post
Additional Chief Fire Officer:
- A Bachelor’s degree and a certified fire course, or a Bachelor of Engineering/Science in Fire/Fire and Safety. Requires seven years of experience in a fire brigade, with at least three years in a rank equivalent to or higher than Station Officer.
Deputy Chief Fire Officer:
- A Bachelor’s degree and a certified fire course, or a Bachelor of Engineering/Science in Fire/Fire and Safety. Requires seven years of experience in a fire brigade, with at least three years in a rank equivalent to or higher than Station Officer.
Fire Officer
- A Bachelor of Engineering/Science in Fire/Fire and Safety with three years of experience, OR a graduate with a Sub Fire Officer course and five years of experience.
Sub Officer (Fire):
- A Bachelor of Engineering/Science in Fire/Fire and Safety with one year of experience, OR a graduate with a Sub Fire Officer course and three years of experience.
Computer Knowledge:
- All candidates must have basic knowledge of computer applications
