The GSSSB has announced a total of 336 vacancies distributed across various Superintending Engineer circles (Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Vadodara, Surat, Gandhinagar, etc.) under the Roads and Buildings Department.

Note: There is also a horizontal reservation for women, Ex-Servicemen, and PwD candidates as per government rules

Eligibility Criteria : GSSSB Work Assistant

Before applying, ensure you meet the specific educational and age requirements mentioned in the notification.

1. Educational Qualification

• Required Degree: A Diploma in Civil Engineering obtained from a Technical Examination Board or a recognized University/Institution.
• Equivalent Qualifications: Candidates with the following diplomas are also eligible:
  • Diploma in Civil and Rural Engineering
  • Diploma in Civil Draftsman
  • Diploma in Construction Technology
  • Diploma in Transportation Engineering
  • Diploma in Quantity Surveying and Construction Management

• Important Note: Candidates holding only a Bachelor’s Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Civil Engineering are NOT eligible to apply.
• Computer Knowledge: Basic knowledge of computer applications is required.
• Language: Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi (or both).

2. Age Limit (as on 30/01/2026)

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 33 Years

3. Age Relaxation:

Application Fee

The application fee must be paid online via Net Banking, UPI, or Card. Fees are refundable for candidates who actually appear for the exam.

Salary / Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be appointed on a fixed pay basis for the first five years.

• Fixed Pay (First 5 Years): ₹26,000 per month.
• Regular Pay Scale: After satisfactory completion of 5 years, candidates will be placed in Pay Matrix Level-4 (₹25,500 – ₹81,100).

Selection Process

The selection will be based on a single competitive written exam (MCQ type) conducted via CBRT (Computer Based Response Test) or OMR method.

Exam Pattern:

• Total Marks: 210
• Duration: 180 Minutes (3 Hours)
• Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for every wrong answer.
• Qualifying Marks: Minimum 40% required separately in Part-A and Part-B.
