Eligibility Criteria : Assistant Librarian Jobs

Candidates must strictly meet the following eligibility criteria as of 30/12/2025.

1. Educational Qualification

  • Degree: A Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science or Library Science from a recognized university.
  • Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of Computer Application as prescribed in rules.
  • Language: Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.

2. Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 Years.
  • Maximum Age: 36 Years.
  • Relaxation:
    • General (Women) & Reserved (Male): +5 Years.
    • Reserved (Women): +10 Years.
    • Maximum age relaxation limit is up to 45 years.

Assistant Librarian Salary / Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be hired on a fixed pay basis for the initial period.

  • Fixed Salary (First 5 Years): ₹26,000 per month.
  • Regular Pay Scale: After 5 years, based on performance, candidates will be placed in Level-4 (₹25,500 – ₹81,100).

Application Fees

  • General Category: ₹500 + Charges.
  • Reserved Categories (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS/PH/Ex-Service/Women): ₹400 + Charges.
  • Note: The fees paid shall be refunded to those candidates who appear for the examination.

Exam Pattern & Syllabus

The exam will be a Computer Based Response Test (CBRT) consisting of two parts.

  • Total Time: 3 Hours (180 Minutes).
  • Total Questions: 210.
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for wrong answers.
