Educational Qualification

The educational qualification prescribed in the official notification is:

Secondary School Examination pass certificate of 10th standard with passing marks in Mathematics and English conducted by any recognised Board of School Education by the Government of India, State Governments or Union Territories in India.

Job Profile

Branch Postmaster

The BPM duties include management of day-to-day Branch Post Office and India Post Payments Bank operations, marketing of departmental services and related duties.

Candidates selected as BPM must arrange suitable accommodation for the Branch Post Office at their own cost before engagement and reside in the post village.

Assistant Branch Postmaster

ABPM duties include sale of stamps and stationery, mail conveyance and delivery, IPPB transactions, assistance to BPM and marketing of departmental products and services.

ABPMs are required to reside within the delivery jurisdiction of the concerned Branch Post Office.

Dak Sevak

Dak Sevaks may work in Post Offices, Sorting Offices, Mail Offices, Transit Mail Offices, Delivery Centres or other offices of the Department.

Their duties can include handling and delivery of mail and parcels, postal and IPPB-related activities and assisting the Postmaster or other officers.
